FREE! is a fantastic set of evangelistic resources which TCS Central Thailand have produced in co-operation with a number of different Thai organisations.

Our aim is to distribute more than 10,000 copies of John’s Gospel to Thai students throughout Thailand and the world! We also want to see them connected into small group bible studies, Christian events and ultimately coming to faith in Jesus Christ.

National Camp 2009

16-25 March, We went to TCS Camp, National Camp. It was a 10-day camp so loooong but praise the Lord that it was a very good chance to encourage the students.

In this camp Johnny and Ann were responsible lots of teaching. One thing that they did is shown in the picture below... Guess what was he doing?

Thank God for sending these guys to help us! So we took them to the theme park, Dream World. We had lots of fun and when we came back home, we were surprised cause the students waited us and decorated house for us with lovely balloons!!!

These are silly photos. Ahhh! Tam was sick after he rode a ride called "Spider" just before we left for the last ride. Because it was about close time, not many people were in a queue so they let people in this round played for longer that usual. When he came down he was sickkkk!!! lol

on the Feb, 27th after we finished staff training, World Missions, we went to bowling to celebrate Julia's Birthday! Sshhhh!! she turned 40 already! Oops! but she still serve God with all her heart with students who younger than her for 20 years!!! God can use anyone who has heart, right?

Here's the cake and... we also celebrate Tam's birthday as well. His Birthday was 1st March. It's not Josh's birthday but he was patiently waiting for his cake :P

The Greek word for fish is "ixthus" or "icthus." The Christian fish symbol that many Christians place on their cars is known as the “ixthus.” Five Greek letters form the word “ixthus,” and those letters inside the fish form an acrostic which is a message that Christians clearly identified with. The first letter represented the word Jesus. The second letter represented the word Christ, the next two, God Son, and the final letter represented the word Savior. This adds up to “Jesus Christ is God’s Son, the Savior.”

During the early days of Christianity, Christians were often put to death for practicing their faith, so they worshiped in secret places. A fish painted on the outside door of a house let other Christians know that they would be safe and welcome inside.

Eagle, why eagle?

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks?
The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come.When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages, below the eagle is soaring above it. The eagle does not escape the storm, it simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us... and all of us will experience them... we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us, we can allow God's power to lift us above them. God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure, and disappointment into our lives. We can soar above the storm.
Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.
But those who are waiting for the Lord will have new strength; they will get wings like eagles: running, they will not be tired, and walking, they will have no weariness. Isaiah 40:31

Testimonies from Camp!

Praise God the camp went well. God used the activities, Bible studies, skits, and talks to disciple christian students and draw non-christian students closer to himself. Here are a few of the many testimonies of students from the camp.

Riam: (First year university student in Phitsanulok): "Even though I was born into a Christian family my relationship with God isn't that good. After returning from camp I knew that God's desire is that we have a good relationship with him. Now I am getting to know God better and growing in my relationship with Him. Thanks be to God for this camp".

Weew: (Fourth year university student in Phitsanulok): "I have lead Bible studies several times in our student cell group and know that this can be difficult and challenging but when I went to camp I saw the staff leading Bible study groups which included both Christians and those who are new to studying the Bible. I saw that this was even more difficult because you have to find the right words to help those who haven't studied the Bible before understand it easily. The blessing that I received from this camp was that I saw God working through the staff leading the Bible studies and I learnt how to teach the Bible to those who aren't Christians. I will be able to use these methods myself in the future".

Bom: a new-comer to the Nakhon Sawan youth house but a tennis partner of one of the Christian students here, he came along to camp and was intrigued to read of the Bible's message. Since then he has come every day to join in an evangelistic bible study looking at who Jesus is, a church prayer meeting and music practice, and a teaching session on understanding God's will. We pray that as Bom learns more within the community of believers that he will turn in repentace and faith to know Jesus as his Lord and Saviour.

Pang: Pang (age 15) has been coming to the Lopburi Youth House regularly for 2 months now and has heard several testimonies, been to church several times, sat in on the weekly Bible Studies, and joined us all in singing worship songs. She was drawn to the Youth House because she could tell people here cared about her because we looked in her eyes when she talked. She told us of how alone she felt at home and school, and how her parents didn't seem to care about her. Slowly she has started see Christ's unconditional love for her. At the camp, she was able to clearly study the gospel message of our sin and separation from God, and Jesus' love for us and desire to have relationship with us. Pang chose to make Jesus her Saviour and to follow him. Since then, she has taken her Bible to school everyday and been telling her friends why she has it. She even watched the entire Gospel of John video and read along in her Bible. Please keep her in your prayers that she will grow into spiritual maturity.

Nam: (High school student in Lopburi) Nam, age 17, has been a Christian for 2 years now, and has obvious leadership and fruit of Christ's work in her life. Through the witness of her life and the change in her life since becoming a christian, her mother is also a christian now. Nam was a Bible Study leader for the first time at the camp. She said it was a great experience and very challenging. She was so excited to be able to serve God in this way. Her group had 1 other Christian and 3 non-Christians. She said they asked many tough questions, but she was still glad to be their leader. Some students even thought she was staff because of her maturity.

Kareon: Kareon, a missionary who volunteered at the camp, said, "I loved the atmosphere at the camp, with people from many countries (USA, England, Taiwan, China, Netherlands, Singapore, Thailand etc.) and the wide variety of activities. The blessing I got is to have many chances to sit and talk with many Christian and Non-Christian students about faith".

Please pray for her to have experience with God, to know Jesus and also pray for us as we're sharing our lives to her.

Evangelistic Camp on OLYMPICS Theme

On August 15-17 we will have a big evangelistic student camp in Nakhon Sawan with a theme of the Olympics. The official name is Huang A Yai, which is a sort of play on words for big circle, Take Care, and it's hard to explain but students like the name.

We hope to have around 120 high school and college students come to the camp for around $8/person. We'll have several competitions, opening and closing ceremonies, and we'll use the colors of the Olympics to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will have 5 Bible Studies, each on one color of the 5 circles.

The rings of the Olympics are Green, Blue, Black, Red, and Yellow.
Green represents God is the creator of everything.
Blue represents God reigns over everything, He is the Ruler of the world.
Black represents man's sin and rebellion from God.
Red represents God's love for us, shown by sending His son Jesus, who died on the cross so that our sins may be washed clean. Red also represents Jesus blood, shed as a sacrifice once for all of us.
Yellow represents our new life as children of the King, and the promise of eternal life in heaven with streets of gold.

Other activities will be a campfire with music and performances by students, a BBQ dinner, singing worship songs together, and time in workshops. In the workshops, students get to choose from several different activities including: sports, making crafts, learning english, etc.

Please keep this in your prayers over the next 2 weeks.
1. The staff, to complete all of our preparations and to still have energy to love the students at camp. That we will have wisdom in all the last second preparations. That we will show God's love through our lives and our words.
2. The Christian students, to grow closer with God and have a bigger understanding of His love for us. Also, to be encouraged/set on fire by the big community of christian students. Pray for them to be bold in sharing their faith with non-christian students at the camp. Also pray for the student leaders who will lead the small group Bible Studies.
3. The Non-Christian students, that their hearts will open up to the Gospel and that they will let go of the things that hold them back from following Jesus. There are several students from each Youth House that have heard the gospel and have interest, but pray that God will use this time to convict them of their need for Jesus Christ to be their personal Savior.

We did not updte our blog for ages... because we had a team from Singapore!!!! came to help us with the students ministry at Lopburi Youth House for about a month. Sarah, Ruth, Andrew and Shuan, they've been serving God by teaching English in schools, campus and at the Youth House, going out to do the open air outreach, do survey with students in campus and many thingsssssss...

Thank God for many blessing you've given us through them. We've seen lots of non-Christian students come to our house and some of them had a chance to listen to their testimonies and interested to Christ!

Please pray for students who have come to the Youth House will continue to come to hang out and learn more about Jesus so that one day He will be their Saviour in their lives!

Mission Trip at Isaan

On April we went to Khon Khan in the North East of Thailand. One word we heard from the missionary who just live there for one year is "It's 2000 years already but the Gospel just arrived this town". It's true and actually there are many places waiting for the Gospel of Jesus. We were the first few team who visit this town but we saw God's working in their hearts. One day while we were sharing the Gospel with kids, the weater were about to rain but people around us talking to a missionary they said "Your God is so great, the sky above you guys is bright but surround you is dark!"

There were many people who listened to the testimonies and the Gospel. Please pray for them and missionaries who are working hard to serve both non-Cristian and Christian.

We had a time to visit our family both in Phitsanulok and Chiang Mai. This was a special time because it was the first time to see our niece!!! Her name is "Mina" which there are several meanings acoording to several languages but few meanings we remember are "sky", "daisy", "laughter" and "AMEN"

TCS Camp

On the 17th-26th March, we've been to the TCS National Camp which the student leaders from Univerities in Thailand gathered together for trainings and to learn how to "Living in the Gospel".

Thank God though we had to spend our lives with them for 10 days, which means we lost using our time together, but we had a chance to talk to them, encouraged, shared our lives and see God's working in their hearts and challenge them to be pured.

Also thank God for a very good camp site along the sea in Prachub Kirikhun and seafood every meal (Yummy!)

On January 19th was "Youth House on the Road" day. We hosted the staff and students from NU Youth House and NS Youth House to do the Bible study, play games, prayer, distribute LPYH brochures, making relationships, spy the monkeys and have food together. We thank God that everything and every programme was in God's control.

On 17-22 November, I, Johnny and Keith Walker went to Bangladesh to see the oppotunity to bring a short-term student team there. Thank God that he opens doors for us and many Christian worker to serve and share the Gospel. Anyway these photo I took since we left Thailand (from bottom) till we were in Bangladesh. Foods are not as hot as foods in Thailand but I like! ;) Every meal we use our hand to eat, I mean Mouth to eat but hand to feed. Most of food we had were chicken curry! Yummy Yummy in my Tummy!

Communication is very important!

Communication starts at home. Children get better literacy wherever they are, but most is learned from conversations at home. Here are ways to improve family communication and language literacy.

1. Engage in family conversations as if it were a normal routine. The family will soon find out there are a lot of things to talk about at home.

2. Talk about the food. It is great to start a socially healthy day by talking to the kids while they are eating their breakfast. Talk about what’s on the menu for the day.

3. Talk about home chores and the pets.

4. Talk about the neighbors. This will make everyone more conscious of the community they are in. It also opens up the door to learn good social values and morals.

5. Talk about money with kids. This sensitive topic could give important spending lessons to the kids.

6. When kids are getting ready for bed, talk about their hygiene. You can also bring up topics like what their plans are for the next day.

7. Read stories. Read a good book to your kids or let them read one for you. Then share your thoughts and feelings about the book. The best book would be one that everybody could relate to, Bible is the best.

8. Join in the game when kids are playing.

9. Spend a few minutes every day talking about something in the news. This will help expand children’s view of the world.

10. Talk about favorite TV programs.

11. At the supermarket, talk about what you’re buying and why.

12. Talk about school. Tackle school events, the teachers, and/or your kids’ friends at school.

13. Parents can do homework with their children. Help kids in their daily academic struggles. It could be as easy as checking your kids’ work after they are done.

14. Encourage family members to talk about their day. Share positive as well as negative experiences.

15. Mom and Dad could share stories that happened to them when they were young. This will make the kids interested and more open to their personal experiences.

These everyday routines are a great opportunity to talk with children and/or parents, as it is in the quality of everyday life that the developing child and grownup are afforded many important opportunities to develop better communication skills. When engaging in interesting and meaningful conversations, the whole family acquires language skill, vocabulary, and a general knowledge about the world they are in; but best of all, it keeps the family intact.

Last Saturday we visited our home in Phitsanulok. Spent some time to visited my grandmother. She was in hospital for about 1 and a half months in last 2 months ago. My family was stress and concern that will she get recover? But later she got better and better until now. Last Saturday we hada chance to talk to her and asked her "Would you like to know Jesus?" Praise the Lord she accepted him as her God. We glad that she became in the same family as us!

This week we going out to Rajchapat Thepsatree University and hand out leaflets for about 1,500 leaflets. The content of this leaflet is about "LooK!" from John 8:12 "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." and chalenge them to have a look at Jesus, the Light of the world.

Thank God that there were many people interest to come to the Lopburi Youth House where we work. They asked about English teaching that will occur in the next month run by US short term team. Some people asked us "Do we need to be christian to come for english class?" We said "Ooh yeah yeah!" no just kidding! but hope that if they are interested to come they will be able to know Jesus as the Light of their lives as well!!

Now it’s been 3 weeks that we stay in Lopburi. I am trying to build relationship to everyone that I meet especially when I play football in the evening. But it doesn’t quite work! I always say “was de krub” (hello!) to anyone I met but they didn’t properly say hello to me! I introduced my name and asked them a few basic questions to get to know them but when they answered it stopped. Nothing happened after that! There was a guy who did response anything after I said hello to him. He just looked at me and walked pass! I was shocked! And Peung had bad experiences about this as well. We think it’s quite hard for us to build a relationship with anyone here (Just non-Christian).

This is quite hard but also challenges us.

From up-down; First, We went to Chaing Mai and throwed water in Songkran Festival there. This picture was taken at church after Sunday service and before soaking. Second, we went to Khao Kho. It's not too far from Photsanulok. It's name of mountain so this place is very nice and cool. Third and Forth, We were at Prajuab Khiri Khun but different beach. One at the Pines (OMF missionary's guest house), another at Ma-Now beach.

Thank you God for He gave us good places and good time to spent together. Without Him we have nothing.

Songkran Festival

10-17 April we went to Chaing Mai. That was in the period of SongKran Festival in Thailand on 13-15 May. It is Thai new year. People will travel back to their family and spend time together (Nowadays they get drunk together in their family) similar to Chrismas time in the west. Most people enjoy throwing water like these 2 pictures above and below.

Nowadays this tradition is changing. Men don't treat women in a good way. And sometimes Women act in an inappropriate way too. We saw this and thought "What will happen if our kids are teenagers ?" How can we protect them and teach them to honour God in any situation they face???

[I took photos with my mobile phone wrapped in a zip lock bag to protected from water. So the quality of pictures might not be good.]

Holiday Vacation

This month is the month that we spend time in many places. First we left Lopburi to Phitsanulok to stayed with my family for a week. When we back to Phitsanulok we felt very happy to be back home. We went first to the night market in Naresuan University which Peung says that this is the best night market in Thailand. It occurs every Tuesday. Then we went straight to the most delicious noodle in Phitsanulok and also in Thailand before we back home. For us we really miss Phitsanulok, miss people and our friends there. We talked about this feeling during the Central Thailand Christian Students team' s diner one day in Lopburi and everyone agreed. But Ann said "When the ministry in Phitsanulok is growing and there are lots of people already we need to spread out to other place" Yes, it true. We need to spread out for the light of God may be shown in the darkness place.

Now we are in Chaing Mai we left Phitsanulok since Tuesday to visit Peung's family. There's a Song Kran Festival during our time here and after this trip we have aretreat with our team in Prajuab at the sea shore. I'll put all photos which occur in this month later.

Please pray that

We can adjust ourselves in Lopburi, be faithful and have strangth to serve in a different circumstance.
"Tum" a student in Lopburi. we never met but I heard that He has a burden heart to serve God and to settle a cell group in his school. One day while we were in Phitsanulok last week he phoned me and wanted to meet me and asked me for an advice to settle cell group and also many things. This really encourage us. we pray that the Lord will make us a good relationship though we never met so when we see each other he will be a good disciple and also I will be a good metor for him.
My grand mother, she is in a hospital [No idea how to explain in English] Hope that before she dies, she will accept Jesus into her heart first.

First week in Lopburi :)

Thank you God for the first week he lead us with his grace. We had a team from NU Youth House [in Phitsanulok] and NS Youth House [in Nakhon Sawan] help us renew our house...

Thank you very much McClean family, K-A Choma, Bob, Moo, Unn, Ice, M, Ami, Fern, Nongๆ from NU (miss u loads) and everyone that always pray for us. God is our provider. We convinced!

The biggest picture in the middle is Staff of LP Youth House, me, Peung, and Caroline Ringrose!

These following pictures are taken one night during the renew week. We went to the festival enjoyed playing dodge'ems very much. Before we went back home that night we decided to play one more time and we did! So fun!

Yesterday we went to Manorom Christian Hospital with central Thailand missionaries from OMF to be babysitters for their kids. Thank God for this chance to serve them and look after about 13 kids. We spent lots of our energy but still had fun.

Today is Julia's birthday. We had carrots and broccoli with Lasagna. Then ginger cake. All food had made by Kerri Ann Choma! Umm... yummy! After that Julia unwrap her presents from us and thai students. All presents we gave her are tea cups as you see!

True Love

Praise the Lord for His love in this lovely day. Thank God that He is with us all the time. There were non-christian people 82, and all people come to this event 159 people.

This is the first time that we, TCS (Thai Christian Students Association) YFC (Youth For Christ) and Hope fellowship, serve God together as a "Christian students in Naresuan University" We convice that God's blessing will be commanded to fall amoung us!

Please pray for those people who came will think about the meaning of true love, life, God who is the only one can be found true love...

Pray that we can follow up people who came and have a good relationship with them.

Valentine Evangelism!

Yesterday we had meeting with YFC (Youth For Christ organisation), Hope church student in university and us, youth house (Thai Christian Students Association). We thank God that we have planed to evangelise the students in the university together on Valentine's day. There'll be booths, mini concert, presentation, games, food, and the Gospel which is about "True Love". This is the first time that we will do evangelism together but we convince that God will bring us unity and many people will come to this event.

At 11.00 pm. of everyday we will pray for this event together (not in the same place but wherever we are)

LopBuri!

Next academic year, June, we have to move to LopBuri, a province in the central of Thailand away from Bangkok for 2 hours, so this Monday we went there and see how's the place we gonna be like. There're lots of monkeys but unfortunately I didn't take any photos of them. We observed the "youth house", where we will live, it was not appropriate cause we think it's not close enough to the university. So we have to pray God for a new building to be youth house. By the way, God encouraged us when we had a quiet time in the day after that day to trust in him and do not worry anything he said

"put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment"

Here is my missionary friend's daughter in NakhonSawan. We went to LopBuri together. She's cute, isn't she?

Visit Home In Chaing Mai...

Last week we had a chance to visit Peung's home in ChaingMai. It was a good time there. The weather was cooler than in Phitsanulok during day and cold (for Thai people) at night time.

In ChaingMai, every Sunday there's a huge night market that everyone will come here even though Thai or foreigner. Lots of food, lots of goods, lots of shows you will find.

This guy, he stood still until anyone gave him some money then he moved like a robot. People who gave him money they can write anything on his clothe.

The Christmas Action team has gone since the first of January.

Praise the Lord for our friendship and opportunity the serve him together.

During a week that we spent time together, we've seen that God was among us all the time.

Lan Grabeu Village

The four guys went into a village to hand out tracts and shared gospel with the resident. The guy on the lestmost is Terry, next to him is John the superstar, then comes Bill and Zac. We have a special event in the village. When Gideon, Lydia and Wan went into this village to hand out tracts and invite the people there to come to our party at night, we found that they don't know where the place is. When Gideon was about to leave the village, a thought came to his mind "Why not hold a party there? Just like God come to us?" Then Gideon met with the team and we decided to have a party there. Wow!! That's what God does for us. We can't go to God but he come to us. Finally, we have 20+ people attend the "party".

We went to Bangrakam Wittaya school and separate in to small group to bring a message to 9 classrooms.

Terry, Mei Yee, Moo, Yuan and I played "cat catch mouse", did magics, taught them joy to the world and holy night.

Thank God that the vice principle of the school impressed us and he was so happy that we came and teach them english and the Christmas story. They said we can bring more a team to come!

At Kristkunanugul church we had a christmas celebration in the evening. Zax, Rat, Whan and Joe sang songs for the audience. I and Philips did magics and there were lots of performances, presents and lots of yummy food today.

Praise the Lord that we all celebrate the God who's still alive. If he had not come we may not have happiness in our lives. Thank you, God.

Christmas Action

The short term team from Hong Kong is in Phitsanulok. This team is called "Christmas Action team". They have come since 23 Decamber 2006 and will leave Thailand on 1 January 2007. Everyday in the morning we have a worship time together and then we will go out to do the evangelism in a school each day.

Please pray for us, the team and the Thai christians to share the gospel together. Pray that God will strengthen us and give us ability to do everything that God wants us to do!
